Pitch

New comic! Yeah, I might have watched a movie and gotten kind of mad. This is seriously a trope I'd love to never see again though. Transcript below: MOVIE PITCHES INC
Ok, get this:
There's this guy. He's totally unremarkable, everyday joe. He has no discernible talents or interesting traits; he is in every way, average at best.
Ok.
And then there's this woman. She's smart, strong, fast, competent. She's better at him.
At what?
At everything! She is in every way his superior.
She pulls him out of his world and into hers. You know, the one that she's been in for her entire life, working hard to get where she is, learning and training and leading; her home.
Mhm.
And then she trains and mentors him.
So he can be her sidekick? Why would she want someone like him?
No, so SHE can become HIS sidekick. She trains him until he's better than her!
That must take years and years! Like it took her!
No! It takes weeks, a month or two at tops! One short training montage later he's matching her move for move until he finally wins! And of course there's some romantic tension there because she finds this so sexy.

And then what?
And then he goes on to be the hero and save the day!
What about her?
Oh, we'll give her a B-fight against a secondary female villain or get him to save her from the main boss, or, if necessary, we'll get her to die tragically before the final fight so he has feelings to fight with.
That sounds great! What's the message?
The message is for guys, no matter how incompetent, unremarkable, average, motivation-less, or mediocre they are, life will still find a way to place them (magically, if necessary!) into a totally undeserved position of physical and mental superiority over women!
