A week ago we made the tough decision to put one of my stepcats, Hades, to sleep.
Hades was an old cat, and I've known him for the last 7 years. Here are some facts about Hades.
In another life, Hades would have been a glamorous (but maybe a little threadbare) drag queen, with a sharp tongue and a bit of a chip on her shoulder, but always willing to help you fix your eyeliner or watch trashy television with you.
Hades' preferred food type was called 'Shiny and Sensitive' and both of these things were true.
Hades was also a dragon.
Hades had one person he loved more than anything else, a handful of people he liked, and the rest he tolerated. (I fell into the latter category.)
Hades looked like an alien.
Hades only bit me when I deserved it.
Hades' purr sounded like a helicopter.
Hades had big soft ears that he did not like me to touch and dainty paws that he also did not like me to touch.
From kittenhood to old age, Hades had a life full of comfort, safety, and pats.
